Protection 03:46
The weapons on your shelf the lives you’ve left behind The bullets on your belt Lined up to leave your mind Defiance, subjection Resistance, protection The harness that you wore A callous on your heart The binds you left to burn What tears your worlds apart I need to protect you To burn what will bind you Defiance, subjection Resistance, protection Protection I need to protect you To burn what will bind you Defiance, subjection Resistance, Protection

Witness 03:03
Pain, it followed you Wait, I thought you knew Fate, I walk with you Hate, unspoken truths I pay the price You take your time And stake my life To say what you have seen Wait, I must confess Hate, will squeeze each breath Pain, unspoken truths Faith, I hold it too Wait, I thought you knew Pain, unspoken truths I’ve paid the price You will waste my time And weigh my strife You should say what you have seen Wait, I must confess Pain, and with each step Hate, unspoken truths Fate, I walk with you Wait, I thought you knew I’ve paid the price You will waste my time And stake my life To say what you have seen

You beg and steal To find your way A heavy heart And cursed grave A mother tongue You spit and sigh Now lick your lips On cast back eyes A hidden Face The borderline Your cast back eyes And drunken smiles Your Mother’s tongue The bones you grind A desperate plea For your kind Land drawn in blood For love and gun A mother’s tongue Love lost, law won A Wanton love Curses benign You sacrifice Your sweet desire A Mother’s tongue Your wounded eye A desperate plea For your kind Land drawn in blood For love and gun A mother’s tongue Love lost, law won

about

Recorded live to tape at Queensland’s incredible Mount Nebo the end result is a record that does well to capture the Bloodletter's uncompromising presence - a merging of dark hooks with driving melody. ‘PROTECTION’ sees the group expand their sound beyond initial horizons to a more realized balance of thick atmosphere and biting melodies; a dark and catchy sound with unshaken resolve. Released on Vinyl through Nopatience Records, August 2018.

"Indeed instead of adding to the mob mentality that can annihilate any subgenre by replicating exact sounds into minutiae until people stop buying records, they’ve crafted an atmosphere that sits exceptionally between punk and post-punk. The guitars are thick, heavy, and laden with incessant riffs. The drums are drive straight on through in tandem and the listener is not at want for a respite while the vocals fly into the ceiling of a huge cave, wailing in agony or shrieking in calculated anger. The lyrics are audible and blistering, providing even more reasons to put them on repeat, waiting to receive that relatable connection we all so desire in our alienation..." - Lilian Void, CVLTNATION

"Scenes of mysticism and damnation (aural or otherwise) flit through the record: singer Lena Molnar’s voice is drenched with a sense of sorrow yet laced with hopefulness; guitar lines by Ryan Cooper and Jasmine Dunn play on and off each other, panicky and brooding; the rhythm section’s strong presence carries the sound throughout, with Cat Maddin on bass and Will Learmonth on drums." - Cher Tan, Difficult Fun.
